Puffin Express have a vacancy each year for a general worker to perform various tasks relating to our vehicles and the house of the proprietor:

Washing & cleaning of mini-buses, usually in the evening;

Domestic chores: ironing clothes, house-cleaning;

Mowing the lawn;

Basic maintenance work round the house, sheds etc

If your English is good enough - answering the phone - not important

Good-quality accommodation is offered, at a reasonable rent, in our house - room with own shower & toilet, TV, refrigerator. If you have a friend/wife/husband who needs accommodation that is OK too.

You can join all of our trips from time to time free of charge - in the case of island trips, you need to pay the ferry fare. There are also opportunities to go hill-walking if this interests you.

DRIVER-GUIDES 2008
We are looking for at least 1 full-time driver-guide for the summer of 2008. You should have:
1. a PCV [PSV] licence - if you're not sure about this, then you don't have one - getting a PCV licence is like having a baby, it's not something you acquire and don't notice. We would prefer full D-licence but if you 16-seat entitlement that might work too;
2. a modest knowledge of the Highlands. We do give fairly extensive training but it's a considerable advantage to have some prior knowledge of Scotland in general and the Highlands in particular.

We are looking for somone who can work all the calendar months June-September, and probably do some training in May. Trips you would expect to guide will normally be SKYE, APPLECROSS, OBAN/MONARCH, INVEREWE and possibly a new, short tour.

You would work either a 5-day week - 4 long trips and 1 short; or a 6-day week, long and short days alternating; or a mix of 5- and 6-day weeks. We can be reasonably flexible about varying, or even clumping, days off.

Our scale of remuneration compares favourably with most other operators of this type of trip. There are various fringe benefits.
